This Hotel could be very good but if fails especially when everything you need cost extra, and this is from the start not a cheap hotel. WiFi was not free: extra 10 € per day. Use of kitchen extra 10€ per day, extra bed 20 € per day (properly OK) The service and politeness was low from the manager side. I will not go there again

Simply wonderful location close to the cliff, perfect for a holiday of peace and relaxation. Our apartment had a private terrace where you could safely eat, accompanied by the sea breeze from dawn to dusk. The property also offers a shared swimming pool from which to admire the sunset. Strategic location, breathtaking view and qualified staff made the stay in this property absolutely perfect. Highly recommended!!

La Rosa sul Mare presents itself as a breathtaking location because it is positioned on a cliff in the Plemmirio reserve 15km from Syracuse. Its position is therefore absolutely strategic because it allows you to reach Syracuse in a short time, but to enjoy exclusive access to the (rocky) beach via a practical staircase. However, the beach is free, so you may find other people who are not hotel guests, but I have never seen it too crowded. As an alternative to the sea there is a beautiful, albeit modest in size, swimming pool and solarium area with a beautiful sea view. It's a shame that the positive sides end, at least in my experience, here. Upon arrival, the "welcome" consisted of simply handing over the keys and informing us that guarded parking cost €10 per day (alternative to free unattended parking). No info on the room and services (access to the sea/pool) and although our apartment was supplied, we were not told that we had a private terrace, unless upon our specific request the day after arrival. Apartment number 100 looks a little neglected: smell of humidity, poor general cleanliness and bathroom door in terrible condition which did not allow it to be completely closed, precluding privacy (see photo). The first night we tried to keep the air conditioning on (it only activates when all the windows are closed), the room immediately started to have a further bad smell, this time from drain/sewer, so much so that we were forced to sleep with windows completely open and as there are no mosquito nets, you can imagine the consequences.... the following morning, the bad smell persisted and we turned to the gentleman at the reception who told us he would try to resolve the problem, but that evening the problem arose resubmitted. The next morning we raised the issue again at reception, and this time upon visiting our apartment we were told verbatim that the level of bad odor was acceptable and that if we slept with the windows open due to the persistent bad smell, they could go to the supermarket to buy mosquito repellent at a cost of €2. I thought it couldn't get any worse, but the next morning we woke up without running water and the reception told us that we could ask for buckets of water in the absence of a toilet flush and that we could wash in a bathroom near the swimming pool (which instead it had running water) in the end we were forced to wash ourselves with bottles of water. The last gem is the daily cleaning which consists of merely making the bed and changing towels if requested, they did not clean the bathroom, kitchen top and table. Just think that out of 4 nights we had to ask them to provide us with toilet paper twice, all this in a 4-star rated facility. In our stay we never saw a female presence, which in my opinion would help with a more careful eye to overcome the critical issues and exploit the potential of the structure, improving comfort and the customer experience. Given the numerous inconveniences raised, we expected a little consideration when paying the balance of the stay, or at least an apology (never received even in the previous days).

We stayed for a week from 11 to 18 June 2023, three of us, my wife and our adult son. Two-room apartment above the reception, with balcony in the bedroom and veranda at the entrance, on the same level as the entrance. We did not use the breakfast and bar service, we ate breakfast at home as well as lunches and dinners when we were not out on our tours. The rooms appear a little dated but ours was tidy, airy and fresh. The kitchen with some profiles that are detached but clean and with an acceptable supply of crockery. We had the coffee maker changed because the one supplied was very bad and the reception did it immediately. The bathroom dated but tidy. Impeccable daily cleaning. I believe the property had few guests in those days, but the feeling of privacy, tranquility and relaxation was intense. In addition to using it as a starting point to visit the coast from Syracuse to Marzamemi and the baroque towns of the interior, we spent a couple of days without leaving the structure and therefore we also made good use of the swimming pool and access to the sea on the rocks . All very nice even if for my possibilities the price is high and I managed to keep costs down through an agreement with the Sicily region, otherwise perhaps I would have chosen another less suggestive but cheaper location. The opinion is overall very positive, I will nostalgically remember the sunsets by the pool or on the balcony of the room!

Beautiful complex right by the sea. There is access to the sea via a few steps (approx. 40). But you have to climb a bit here, because the beautiful deck is no longer there. You can still see it on Google maps, but that must have been 2 years ago. The beautiful infinity pool is cleaned daily and has a decent depth. You can sit comfortably and comfortably in the breakfast pavilion. There are delicious warm croissants, fruit and yoghurt. You shouldn't expect a "big" continental breakfast. The staff is helpful. Our apartment number 113 is right next to the pool, which is very pleasant when your own refrigerator is only 4 meters away. The apartment has a pleasant indoor climate, probably due to the ceiling height of 3.3 m. The bedroom and the living and dining area each have their own air conditioning.
